System for Automated Grade and Slope Control

Easy handling, precision and reliability: The Auto Grade Plus and Grade Assist grade control systems from VÖGELE optimally support paving teams in handling leveling tasks.

Auto Grade Plus: Reliable automated Grade and Slope Control

The automated grade and slope control system of the Dash 5 generation, Auto Grade Plus, supports operators in profile-accurate paving on any roadbase.

By scanning a predefined reference height using various sensor systems, paving thickness can be controlled with precision. Thanks to Auto Grade Plus, irregularities during paving are evened out, improving both surface evenness and profile accuracy of the roadway.

Grade Assist: The Assistance System for Profile Paving

Grade Assist automates the paving of crown and cross slope profiles. Within the assistance system, the desired profile and the paving distance can be defined. Grade Assist then ensures gradual adjustment until the predefined value is reached.

Using Grade Assist requires the Auto Grade Plus option.

Automated Control

VÖGELE AutoTrac controls paving width and travel direction of a Dash 5 paver with the help of sensors that scan physical references. Smart Pave ushers in the next level of automation: The VÖGELE solution fully automates paving width, positioning and travel direction of the paver based on virtual references.

AutoTrac: Automatic Steering and Screed Width Control

AutoTrac from VÖGELE also enables automatic screed width control using Edge Control, the Edge Detection sensor and the fixed screed width setting.

With AutoTrac Steering Control, operators can additionally steer their Dash 5 paver automatically.

Smart Pave: Digital Control

Smart Pave automatically controls the paving width, positioning and travel direction of a VÖGELE Dash 5 tracked paver on the basis of virtual references. The validated paving geometries used are sourced from the John Deere Operations Center™.

To use this solution, WPT Paving Pro along with the John Deere StarFire™ dual antenna system is required.

Digital Jobsite Documentation

With WIRTGEN GROUP Performance Tracker for Paving (WPT Paving), operators always keep track of their VÖGELE paver’s progress, document key paving parameters and analyze their performance data in the John Deere Operations Center™ for construction machinery. The temperature measuring system RoadScan additionally records the paving temperature.

WPT Paving: Precise Paving and Jobsite Documentation

With WPT Paving, paving teams always have full visibility: of current paver performance, material consumption and jobsite progress – while documenting all key data. These performance data are available in the John Deere Operations Center™ for construction machinery for further analysis.

WPT Paving from VÖGELE is available in two versions: Basic and Pro.

RoadScan: The Dash 5 Temperature Measuring System

The RoadScan temperature measuring system optimised for “Dash 5” pavers enables paving teams to record paving temperature even more accurately and comprehensively. Operators view the data in real time on the ErgoPlus 5 Premium Touch display of the paver operator’s console.

With the WPT Paving Pro option, the data are transferred into the John Deere Operations Center™ and can be used there for further analysis.

Numerous features of the Dash 5 generation of pavers make it easier for the operator to concentrate on essentials on the construction site, These make the workplace more attractive, and also reduce the risk of mistakes being made during the paving process. These features include Paver Access Control (PAC), which makes starting up the paver quicker and easier.
